Malaysia Tech Week 2019 (MTW’19) is the first ever week-long initiative hosted by the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Knowledge Group of Companies. Friday, 22nd June 2019, marks the final day of the week-long initiative, aimed at empowering digital tech startups and to push forward the business digital transformation agenda.
Entrepreneur Insight has followed MTW’19 throughout the entire week, participating in various events, workshops and talks, immersing ourselves in the digital transformation journey.
The pitch-pit sessions have brought together startups and investors together to make ideas a reality. TechXperience provides participants with a deeper understanding of the issues that are plaguing the industry and how technology can help resolve them. Corporate Innov8 gives large corporations a platform to share their progress in adopting innovative solutions to common industry problems.
Will there be a MTW’20?
Dato’ Ng Wan Peng, Chief Operating Officer of MDEC gave a hint by giving the crowd two thumbs up to the question during the launch of UOB’s “The FinLab’s Jom Transform” Programme.
With that, MTW’19 has come to an end. But the journey for digital transformation in businesses will continue without stop.
The week-long event can be summarised eloquently with a comment by Eusoffe Chua, Chief Executive Officer of Tower Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). “We believe that the tech ecosystem will be the ecosystem of the future. We are here, not in search of a unicorn, but dragons that can shape our economy.”
