Before establishing FirePitz, JJ had the opportunity to train at Bread Street Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay in Singapore. The experience exposed him to the discipline, precision, and service standards required to deliver exceptional dining experiences. More importantly, it inspired him to bring those values back to Malaysia and create something that reflected both culinary craftsmanship and heartfelt hospitality.

In 2021, he founded FirePitz in Horizon Hills, Johor, introducing a concept that was relatively new to the local market. The journey was filled with challenges, uncertainty, and countless decisions that came with building a restaurant from the ground up. Like many entrepreneurs, JJ faced moments of doubt, operational hurdles, and the constant need to adapt.

Through the process, he discovered that success is not about having a flawless plan from the beginning. Instead, it comes from having a clear direction, staying patient through challenges, and remaining consistent in execution. These lessons continue to guide how he leads the business today.
