KUALA LUMPUR, 2 Aug 2019 – Tonight marks the launch of the fourth instalment of the annual 100 Most Influential Young Entrepreneurs (100MIYE) award, hosted by Armani Media Sdn Bhd, located at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).
The award night is officiated by the Malaysian Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Bin Mohamad and the Minister of Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof.
A total of 100 winners from various industries, ranging from services, medical, retail, manufacturing & e-Commerce, have received their 100MIYE Award during the gala dinner night, for their excellent execution, innovative ideas and the impact they bring to their respective industries.
Malaysian athletes Datuk Nicole David and Dato’ Lee Chong Wei, Singer and businesswoman, Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza, founder of Hatten Group, Dato’ Edwin Tan, and founder of Ambition International Holdings Berhad, Dato’ Dr Zack Lim are among the 100 MIYE Award recipients this year.
All award recipients are aged 45 years and below, and hold a position of founder, managing director or the CEO in the organisation, with a minimum of two years managing the business.
The Lifetime Achievement Award recipient for this year’s 100MIYE goes to Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai, executive chairman and founder of Top Glove Corporation Bhd, for being an exemplary role model for other entrepreneurs to emulate.
The 100MIYE Lifetime Achievement Award is a separate award that given is to individuals with at least 20 years of documented accomplishments in the field of entrepreneurship, whom have also coached and empowered other young entrepreneurs before.
“In Malaysia, 98.5% of the businesses are SMEs. In other words, they are all entrepreneurs. Similarly, if we can change Malaysian entrepreneurs, we can make Malaysia a better place,” commented Dato KK Chua, Managing Director of Armani Media Sdn. Bhd.
“The 100MIYE Award is all about celebrating entrepreneurship. It is more than just an award night gala dinner. More importantly, it is a platform for entrepreneurs to shine, to grow and transform,” he further commented.
The 100MIYE is a once in a lifetime award, only available to entrepreneurs who have displayed immense tenacity, good management and communication skills. Recipients who have already received this prestigious award previously, will not be nominated again.
Armani Media has also set up “The Young Entrepreneurs’ Outreach Fund” as part of the 100MIYE project, that nurtures young talents via engagement of prominent entrepreneurs with students in academic institutions, to share their experiences and mentorship in their entrepreneurship journey. Past collaborations include SEGi University, Sunway College and the University of Malaya.
