A Journey Rooted in Hard Work and Perseverance
Tan Kim Chiang’s entrepreneurial journey began with a bold decision to venture into his first business, taking over a furniture business without any banking loans and operating from his home. As the business flourished, he expanded operations and moved to a shop lot in Jalan Hang Jebat, Melaka.
Transition to Transportation and Logistics
In 2004, Tan transitioned to the transportation business, founding SCH Logistics. With determination and resourcefulness, he secured a contract for transport distribution with Merison Group of Company in Melaka, starting with just seven units of 3-tonne trucks on a rental basis.
Strategic Growth and Expansion
Through strategic decision-making and perseverance, Tan gradually acquired these trucks, one by one, purchasing them from Merison Group of Company with hire purchase loans from banks.
Recognition and Continued Growth
In 2011, Tan Kim Chiang’s contributions to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) were recognized when he was awarded the Bintang Khidmat Terpuji by the Melaka State Governor. Today, SCH Logistics Sdn Bhd boasts a fleet of 22 units of curtain-sided trailers, 7 units of 10-tonne trucks, 6 units of 5-tonne trucks, and 25 units of 3-tonne trucks, providing best-in-class logistics services to clients across Malaysia.
