With over 15 years of experience in website and online marketing under his belt, Tee Fook How is the go-to person when it comes to anything related to online exposure. Fook How, the founder and director of Newpages Network Sdn Bhd (Newpages) said established the company in 2007, starting as a classified website before expanding into a platform for businesses to advertise their products and services online.
In a recent interview with Entrepreneur Insight, Fook How said Newpages Network has set up its first cross-platform synchronization system, known as Onesync.
“The patented product could be managed by Newpages App where with just one click, it synchronises multiple platforms encompassing clients’ company website, Newpages business platform, social media and marketplace. Onesync also has obtained the highest ranking on Google Search,” he said.
When asked to elaborate on his business, Fook How said Newpages meant the world to him.
“It is like my baby. I developed everything from scratch, utilizing my own experience as a programmer. Throughout the first five years of its establishment, I used to approach clients in the daytime and continue writing the coding for my system at night, and most of the time the work continues until the wee hours.
“I gave full commitments to develop my business, I sacrificed all sorts of entertainment activity and travelling. All I could say, it was a fruitful process because, after more than a decade, everything started to pay off. I am very excited to see my company growing, from a mere one person to currently housing 100 employees under one roof.
“My journey as an entrepreneur has not stopped yet despite achieving sustainable growth over the years. Instead, I plan to go bigger and aim to get my company listed on the stock market, making it a public company in the next five years.
“My team and I are striving to ensure Newpages could launch its initial public offering (IPO) in Malaysia with a market value of RM1 billion,” said the inspiring entrepreneurs.
The 100 Most Influential Young Entrepreneurs 2022 (100MIYE) recipient said Newpages has formed a five-year plan to ensure their dreams to be listed could be materialised.
“In the next three years, we will be focusing on three things, namely to keep expanding our services to East Malaysia and South East Asia, to help companies in the said regions to digitalise their business as well as to gain more market share.
“We have our research and development team that keeps developing new functions for our products and increasing the performance to help clients generate a bigger return on investment (ROI). We also offer our expertise in making the internal organization more established, with an integrated ISO 9001 to ensure quality and a better standard of all our process, ISO 27001 for data security to ensure all clients data with us is safe and protected,” he added.
He said as of now, he spent lesser time on his company operation as most of the daily operations can be handled and managed by the department head.
“However, I still have to monitor and conduct a meeting with them every week. I expect that I can fully let my team handle the daily operation, and I can more focus on recruiting more talents into the company as well as getting more investors to get more resources to help us grow,” he explained.
Fook How shared he believes that entrepreneurs should have a big dream and work hard to achieve it.
“Everyone should have a dream that they can be excited about every day, thus keeping them from moving forward,” he concluded.
