An investment is a process where the investors acquired an asset or item to generate income or appreciation where the value could increase over time. When a person invests in goods, they do not intend to use it as a source of immediate consumption, but rather as a tool for future wealth creation.

Its founder Calvin Koh started the academy when the country was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic after realising that many people were affected by the impact of the deadly virus, particularly from the financial aspect.

In an interview with Entrepreneur Insight recently, Calvin said not only does the public have to brace for the Covid-19 post-pandemic impacts, but the sluggish global economy has also caused other major issues including a high rate of inflation.

“Most of us are in an uncertain situation, not just in Malaysia but the situation has also worsened across the globe as well. However, I discovered that despite the high inflation, there is no need to panic. A large amount of money is floating in the market, all you need is the knowledge on how to invest,” said Calvin.

He added that Seicho Academy provides a platform that allows him to express his mission, which is to extend a helping hand to those facing financial problems.

“You cannot taste success without strong determination and persistence. When I first began my investment journey, I was once caught in a situation where I lost a sizable sum of money in a single year.

“However, I never gave up even when such a thing happened, instead I took the chance to analyse and study the losses. I did some research to find the root cause of the problem and continue to improve from there. All I could say is that I am now experiencing victory and that my investment journey has been successful,” said the recipient of the 100 Most Influential Young Entrepreneurs 2022 award. 

Calvin believes that every dream comes with beliefs and success comes with actions, therefore he always challenges himself to have daily improvement, even if it is merely one per cent.

“I aim to help many people in the country as I could to understand the importance of investment. I want to let them know how investments can help them improve themselves be it in their personal life or among their families.

“Only through passion you can make your return on investment stable and successful,” he said.
