No businessman would ever dispute the importance of the customer satisfaction aspect because it has emerged as one of the key elements in determining whether a company will succeed or face failure. Word of mouth goes a long way and considering that Ting Wei Shun chose to go all out to provide the best quality when it comes to services related to renovation and interior design.
Wei Shun is the founder and managing director of Greenland Management Services Sdn Bhd (Greenland Management Services), a company that specialised in supplying and installing building materials as its core activity, in addition to also offering general renovation and supply of niche products.
In a recent interview with Entrepreneur Insight, Wei Shun said Greenland Management Services has been around since 2013. Reminiscing how he started her journey as an entrepreneur over a decade ago, Wei Shun said he used to be an employee for another company for three years.
“Throughout my stint in the company, I took part in various training programmes to increase more knowledge in the construction, renovation and interior design field. I utilised my experience there as a stepping stone for me to be involved in this sector. After resigning, I muster the courage to open my own company knowing that I have full support from the suppliers and customers who have had a good experience dealing with me.

“I then began to put the satisfaction of the customer first. I take into account how satisfied people are with the quality of the product and services they get from my company as it is crucial for my business. To me, business means responsibility and the more you earn, you have to bear a huge responsibility to ensure you would be able to meet your customers’ needs,” he added.
The 100 Most Influential Young Entrepreneurs 2022 (100MIYE) recipients also went on to share that he too, made his fair share of mistakes along his journey as an entrepreneur.
“I still vividly remember in the early stage of getting my business running, one of my biggest mistakes was making a hasty decision. I simply decided a jiffy without thinking of the payment terms as well as easily say ‘Yes’ to every request.
“After realizing the bad impact it had caused towards my business operation, I started to calm myself down and learn to make any decisions within two or three days to give myself more time to reflect,” he said.
Wei Shun added that he hopes to set up a new business in Kalimantan, Indonesia in the next three years.
“I would like to take the opportunity to explore new markets and as we are moving towards the direction, we have established a company in the region recently to conduct surveys and research,” he said, adding that he believes that only by taking actions, he will get to elevate her company to a greater height.
