Cheng Wei aims to assist clients to make consistent, stable profits from stock market

Chik Cheng Wei’s strong interest in stock trading and the financial market has led him to the right path toward becoming an officially licenced remisier. From writing and sharing stock market articles on Facebook in 2014 to obtain a licence from the Securities Commission Malaysia, the promising entrepreneur worked hard to provide professional guidance and coaching to his clients.

Through his company, Sguerillas Global Management, Cheng Wei strives to make his name known in the industry and thanks to his strong base of followers on Facebook, he has received thousands of public testimonials via the social media platform.

In a recent interview with Entrepreneur Insight, Cheng Wei said as an entrepreneur, being honest is the key to ensuring his business could stand the test of time.

“Never try to abuse the trust that people have in you. In this social media era, everything must be transparent. When you go against the law, the rest of the world will know. As for me, I consider myself extremely fortunate to have discovered my passion at a young age.

“At this moment, I enjoy doing what I love as I have a clear direction for my future. I enjoy stock trading because I find joy in educating people and assisting them in their journey of investing and seeing their profit from the market. It is far more enjoyable to share one’s joy than to experience it alone. Let’s all work together to win,” he said.

Cheng Wei went on to say that in his seven years as a full-time trader, he has taught over 500 classes, coached over 3,500 internal students, and is presently a remisier for over 2,200 stock traders across the country.

“My goal is to assist my clients to make a consistent, stable and super profit from the market. In the past three years, we have accumulated more than 2,000 trading results from my company members as well as thousands of public testimonials on our Facebook page.

“We have the formula to help our members become successful traders, which is to choose practical steps to execute rather than selling dreams. We deliver on our promises,” he added.

Reminiscing his journey in the industry, the 100 Most Influential Young Entrepreneur 2022 recipient said he once learned his lessons a hard way.

“My biggest weakness is management skills. I am a people person. I have strong personal abilities but poor team management. I am overly nice to my teammates.

“Even as a leader, I never scolded my subordinates; instead, I accepted their excuses, and in the end, they took me for granted. From there, I learned my most important lesson: as a leader, I should never allow personal emotions to interfere with business.

“Everything must be result-oriented; let the numbers speak for themselves,” he said, adding that he aims to educate 10,000 stock traders in the next five years.

Before wrapping up the interview, Cheng Wei advised other entrepreneurs to stay focused and develop their businesses until they succeed.

“Be the ace in your industry; be the authoritative figure. Don’t make any enemies. You will be envious if you see your industry peers as competitors. However, if you look at them as learning opportunities, you’ll be able to keep moving forward,” he said.
