Aviation is one of the most badly-affected industries when the Covid-19 pandemic hit the world three years ago due to flying restrictions and travel bans imposed across the world. Bleak situations, however, tend to come with silver linings. As current trends shows, businesses have bounced back, stronger than before after having the benefit of time to re-learn and re-strategize.
Leveraging on the bright future of the aviation industry, Airborne Solutions Sdn Bhd (Airborne Solutions) has set a target to expand its business globally in five years with multiple business interests set up in different fields & industries. Airborne Solutions offers a total logistic solution for their clients encompassing air transport, air cargo and international freight forwarding services.
Its Group Managing Director Vincent Ang Kit Fai said the move will help to create a healthy ecosystem for their businesses.
“Our goal is to venture into at least 10 different businesses across 10 different industries, which will relate back to the businesses that we initially started. Say, for example, we recently ventured into the business of warehousing, which has provided us with the facilities to store our clients’ cargo in a safe and secure environment before shipping it across multiple nations.
“Besides that, we have ventured into the business of sourcing and trading of goods, which will provide our clients with a one-stop platform to source for the right products across the globe with a money-back guarantee if the products do not meet the requirement of our clients.
“We also provide a value-added service to that by also offering our global air cargo and shipping services to ensure our clients have peace of mind getting in the right products for their business,” he said, adding that their target audience would be manufacturers, trading companies, e-commerce organizations as well as retail business owners. With such service in our platform, it will benefit our air cargo, air transport & integrated logistics business which is the core business of Airborne Solutions.
Delving further, Vincent said the company began its journey as an air cargo service provider, mainly serving clients in the aviation industry, moving aircraft spares and engines, aircraft fuselage and even provides helicopter shipping services, where they transport used and new helicopters across the globe.
“Eventually we have developed a couple of new air transport divisions where we even provide new services to our clients such as private jet air charter services for their business travel needs and for the high net worth individuals who seek for privacy in their day to day commute between nations,” he said.

Noting the challenges lying ahead on their journey to penetrate the global market, Vincent said his strategy would be to find the right business partners who would share the same vision & goal as him.
“The aim could be achieved by having the right business partners for our new ventures. Airborne Solutions are constantly scouting for new talents across the industries to come on board with us in this journey to build a global Multinational Conglomerate with businesses across the world,” he said.
Other than that, Vincent also stressed the importance of hiring the right talent for the job to ensure the organization’s goals could be executed effectively.
“I have made numerous mistakes throughout my involvement in business, and the biggest one is not getting the right employee to be part of the company.
“Having the right employee is extremely important since day 1 of the company inception as this will set off your business on the right track and reduce the workload for the business owner who is supposed to focus into getting more clients rather than micromanaging the company.
“Therefore, I’ve learned that we need to ensure that the talents that join our company must be screened through and be very sure that they are the right fit before deciding to get them on board,” he said.
He also hopes to have a more cooperative team, where everyone works together hand in hand amicably.
“I am against office politics and I hope to see the same for all my team members. I also would like to share some pieces of advice to budding entrepreneurs, they should set a clearer goal and remember, not to give up on their journey.
“Many entrepreneurs who failed always have two things in common, they do not have a clear direction and they give up easily on their ventures.
“Also, stay humble and build your network across the industries. As the saying goes, your network is your net worth. Read books, invest your money in knowledge, always remember, money value will always decrease due to economic inflation, but knowledge is priceless and will always remain with us till eternity,” he concluded.
