LOI TUAN EE

Founder of Farm Fresh

Loi Tuan Ee, the founder of the Holstein Milk Company and Farm Fresh had previously run a carton packaging company that served factories and had zero experience in the agriculture business when he decided to jump into the deep end of the pool.

Farm Fresh is probably the only milk company that sells fresh milk. Most of the other milk brands use reconstituted milk, milk powder or solids. And if they didn’t, they add preservatives to their products. It’s no easy task, of course, to offer milk fresh as it goes bad quickly without the usual preservatives.

Today, Farm Fresh produces about one million bottles of milk a day. The 100 cows they had in 2009 have grown to 3,200 and are kept in two farms — one in Kota Tinggi, Johor, and the other at Muadzam Shah Cattle Research and Innovation Centre in Pahang, which was set up in 2014 with the assistance of the people from the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) and Mardi (Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute).
